
To mark the centenary of Constance Markievicz’s election in December 1918, we are hosting special tours that will focus on the women buried in Glasnevin Cemetery who have played pivotal roles in shaping Irish history. Markievicz was the first woman ever elected to the House of Commons and the second woman in the world to be elected as a parliamentary representative. To mark the occasion, we are hosting tours which focus on the legendary women who along with Markievicz played a pivotal role in shaping Irish culture and history to whom Glasnevin is home to.
These tours will run on Saturday, December 1st & 8th at 11:00am and 2:00pm.

***There will be a re-enactment at 1:00pm on these three dates of a talk that Constance Markievicz gave to the women of the Student's National Literary Society in Dublin in 1909***
