Riverfest Limerick

Connemara Mussel Festival

Family Saturdays at Belltable

There are two fun workshops on Saturday in Belltable. First, Susan Boyle takes inspiration from nature for a watercolour workshop for children from 4-8 years at 12.30pm. This is followed at 2pm byan Instant Frozen Yoghurt Workshop designed for children 8 years and older.

Kilkenny Roots Festival

Since 1998 the festival has attracted some of the finest names in the Americana/Roots and this year is no different.

Audiences wind their way through the medieval streets sampling the huge range of local and international music including The Accidentals, Patti Griffen and Dublin roots band I Draw Slow.

Powerscourt Estate | Tulip Festival

Running until May 6th, Powerscourt Gardens has 14,000 beautiful flowers on display with different tulip varieties, layouts, and colours for you to enjoy. The festival is included in the admission charge to the Gardens, No. 3 in the World (National Geographic).

Slieve Bloom Walking Festival

The Slieve Bloom Walking Club celebrates it’s 25th year with a wide variety of walks. The festival offers a choice of woodland walks, riverside and gentle rolling hills with experienced walk leaders and some extra special walks take place this year including a family friendly walks with Alpachas.

Family Drop In | National Art Gallery

Every Sunday, families are welcomed to the National Art Gallery with a free creative workshop at 11:30 and a family friendly tour at 12:30. Drop-in and stay for as long (or as little!) as you wish. Suitable for children of all ages.

Everyman Cork | Behind the Scenes Tour

The Everyman, Cork has been in existence since 1897 and this unique tour, launching this weekend, gives an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the beautiful 650 seat theatre with access to areas rarely seen by the public.

The Ark Workshop

Become the final recruits of the Jawsome Rangers this weekend and fulfil the mission of finding the missing shark teeth. Guests will be tasked with helping Professor Finn locate the large Play-Doh model shark teeth in the tanks.

Cavan Walking Festival

Cavan Walking Festival takes place over eight days from 3rd - 10th May, with trails, rambles and hikes all led by local trained guides. The walk range from relaxed strolls to more challenging walks including Geopark walks, night walks, forest and history rambles, family and fitness trails, atmospheric dusk walks and a hike for the more experienced on The Cavan Way.

Cool Planet Experience

Design and create a mini-greenhouse with your kids, using Eric Carle’s story ‘The Tiny Seed' as inspiration. These mini-greenhouses will help cool our planet by guzzling up all the CO2 in your home!

Kids will learn about the carbon cycle through the secret life of plants! The workshops for 3-12-year-olds last one hour and take place at 11am and 1pm on Sunday and Monday.

Festival of Fools

Festival of Fools is a four-day international street theatre festival in the centre of Belfast taking place over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Top street artists, from Canada, Japan, Finland, Italy, Argentina, France and Ireland, give more than 120 performances, with the emphasis on comedy - the more physical and surreal, the better.

Drogheda Arts Festival

The 15th Drogheda Arts Festival runs through this weekend with a mix of theatre, music, tours, literature and spoken word, visual art, family and outdoor activities for all ages. There will be a free family day in St Dominic’s Park, where you can kick back and enjoy music, spectacle, and circus performers by the banks of the Boyne on Monday afternoon.

City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival

The City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival is back for its 18th year.  The annual celebration of jazz and big bands will feature artists from all over the world and welcome more than 70,000 revellers over the bank holiday weekend.  Among the popular acts performing at the festival this year are Kitty LaRoar, Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, Jumpin Up!, Jive Aces, Kaz Hawkins, headliner Marc Almond and many more!

Kerry Camino Walking Weekend

The Kerry Camino is an annual guided three day walk on the May Bank Holiday weekend to promote walking in the area, specifically the walk known also as The Dingle Way between Tralee and Dingle. Enjoy amazing scenery, meet new people and have a great experience on the Kerry Camino.

Bray Jazz Festival

The Bray Jazz Festival returns for its 20th year this weekend with shows featuring artists performing European and contemporary American jazz, and much more. The Mermaid Arts Centre is the official venue and the three main headline performances - featuring pianist Marc Copland, John Scofield's Combo 66 and cellist Anja Lechner and Francois Couturier.

Elsewhere there is world music from Kadialy & Indré, jazz torch songs from Norma Winstone, psychedelic sounds from Sweden's Fire!, Switzerland's 'Speak Low', and tech innovators Tin Men and The Telephone from The Netherlands.

Wild West Country Fest

The Wild West Country Music weekend in Kilconly, Tuam, features the best line-up to appear together along the Wild Atlantic Way with some of Ireland's top country acts including Michael English, Derek Ryan, Mike Denver and Johnny Brady.

Mayo Day

Mayo Day, returns for its 5th year representing representing the best of the county and around the globe culminating in a flagship event taking place at the National Museum of Ireland | Country Life, Turlough on Saturday 4th May featuring music, children's activities, crafts, storytelling and lots of fun.

Courtmacsherry Seafood Feast

The second Courtmacsherry Seafood Feast takes place in the seaside town this Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. The festival will celebrate the rich fishing heritage of the Cork village and showcase the finest local culinary talents and includes demos from celebrity foodies James Kavanagh and William Murray, the duo behind Currabinny.
